Donald Ian Wallace MBCS CITP

Mr. Wallace brings to M2M over 35 years of automation and communications engineering and project management experience for major industrial and commercial companies such as Hanover Compressors, Xcel Energy, Williams Pipeline, Saudi Aramco, Amoco, Conoco, and Chevron. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for the conception, development, rollout, and sales of complex systems for industrial automation and communications applications.

Prior to joining M2M, Mr. Wallace founded and managed several telemetry companies, one of which developed the first Internet SCADA system using SkyTel’s 2-way network, providing the technology to Williams Pipeline for gas pipeline monitoring and automated meter readings, and for deployment by Coca-Cola in their vending enterprise. Prior to that, Mr. Wallace worked for several global engineering companies, including Fluor Corporation, Pritchard Corporation, and several SCADA companies, where his accomplishments included leading the conception and development of an Internet protocol converter and communications concentrator for major oil and gas pipeline companies.

Mr. Wallace writes and lectures on Internet-based automation, is frequently covered by leading trade publications, and holds 2 patents for Wide Area Telemetry, with other wireless and embedded Internet patents pending.

Mr. Wallace holds a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from Southeast Essex Technical College (now University of East London), Essex, England. He is a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society and is an active member of the Energy Telecommunications Electric Association (Entelec). In 1995 Mr. Wallace served as a Director of the HART Foundation, an industry supported non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of digital communications at the device level.
