EDF Relocates Top SCADA Expertise To M2M Headquarters
European Energy Giant’s SCADA Pro to Join Forces with Nation’s iSCADA Leader

Englewood, Colorado - August 14, 2023 - Internet-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) leader, M2M Data Corporation, today announced that Electricité de France (EDF) SCADA expert, Laurent Bacon, will join forces with the company’s own top SCADA professionals at M2M’s new headquarters just outside of Denver. Taking an active stance in their strategic investment, EDF has placed one of their top SCADA experts at M2M’s headquarters. In his dual role as Project Manager and Systems Architect, Bacon will not only assist in ongoing R&D for SCADA industry innovations but he will also facilitate M2M’s ongoing collaboration with EDF’s 2500 R&D team in Europe.

Prior to his relocation to Denver, Bacon was charged with Internet-based device networks for EDF’s fossil power plants. In this six-year-long project, he devised an innovative Web-based solution for nine French and Mexican power plants totaling over 3,400 MW of capacity. His new role within M2M Data Corporation marks the beginning of a strategic partnership with France’s largest utility company. Such an alliance will provide EDF with an opportunity to launch M2M’s turnkey remote monitoring, control and data aggregation solutions into its European Utility service operations as well as other M2M products throughout North America.

Donald Wallace, M2M Data Corporation’s COO and VP of Engineering and Operations, expressed extreme pleasure with his company’s alliance with EDF. “As one of Europe’s leading energy providers, we are thrilled that EDF has chosen M2M Data Corporation to further its SCADA initiatives. Bringing with him over 10 years of remote access control experience, Laurent is sure to be a great asset to the M2M team.”

The EDF Group is one of Europe’s leading energy providers. France’s EDF parent company serves more than 32.2 million customer sites daily and more than 46.7 million customer sites use the Group’s energies and services worldwide. As the company steadily grows, it is moving towards new markets and activities, one of which is its latest partnership with M2M Data Corporation.
