M2M Appoints SCADA Industry Veteran to COO
Donald Wallace to Head Up Company's Operations and Engineering
Englewood, Colorado -August 8, 2002 - M2M Data Corporation took
an executive step forward today in reinforcing its position as Internet-based
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) leader by appointing
Donald Wallace to Chief Operating Officer. An internationally recognized
expert in SCADA-related technology, Wallace brings 35 years of industry
experience with him to his M2M position.
Wallace will take on a dual role within the company, serving as VP of
Engineering and Operations in addition to undertaking COO duties. No stranger
to "wearing many hats," Wallace comes fully prepared to guide
and advance M2M Data Corporation's SCADA positioning. "Don's proven
track record in attracting and leading top talent from the energy, telecom
and SCADA markets will serve the company well," said Alan Forbes,
M2M's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
In a three-and-a-half decade career that has included senior roles at
such global engineering companies as The Pritchard Corporation, Arcom
Control Systems, Inc., NovaTech, Inc. and
X-traWeb, Inc., Wallace recently broke new ground with his own SCADA initiative.
He founded and managed PrimeLink, a telemetry company that developed the
first Internet SCADA system to use SkyTel's 2-way network. This technology
went on to be implemented by Williams Pipeline in monitoring its gas pipeline
and in automating its meter readings and by Coca-Cola in its vending machine
enterprise. The advancement proved so revolutionary, in fact, that it
went on to garner Wallace two patents for Wide Area Remote Telemetry.
A graduate of Southeast Essex Technical College with a Higher National
Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Wallace frequently writes and lectures
on Internet-based automation His insightful and topical SCADA-related
articles have appeared in such publications as Control Automation International,
Oil and Gas Insight, Energy Pulse and Electric Light & Power Utility
Automation. He is a member of the Energy Telecommunications Electric Association
